- The family of Robert Bussiere are deeply saddened to announce his passing on March 29, 2008 at the age of 82. He was born Aug 31, 1925 in Vonda SK. At the age of 7 he moved to a homestead located 5 miles southwest of Spiritwood with his parents and started working hard farming. He farmed until 1999 when he sold his farm to his son Maurice. In 1949 he met Margaret Sarrazin and they were married on Oct 24, 1950. The family consisted of 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren which Robert enjoyed teasing and spending time with. Robert enjoyed farming, raising pigs, woodworking and camping and craved Copenhagen. Robert's health took a turn in 2005 and he entered the Spiritwood Lodge and spent the rest of his life there. Robert is lovingly remembered by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren Simone (George) MacIver and their children Michelle Chartier and her children Mason and Kara; Curtis (Treena) Chartier; and Adam (Rosalee) MacIver and their son Evan Sylvia (Alvin) Marks and their children Crystal (Tyler) Hoare and their children Braxton, Colton and Reyne; Clinton (Tracy) Marks and their children Jacob, Luke and Hayley; Marcel Bussiere and his friend Joe De-Napoli; Maurice (Colette) Bussiere and their children Allyssa and Justin; and Dean (Kim) Bussiere and their children Amber and Jasmine. His stepchildren Eugene Perkins and his children Tammy and James; Steve (Agnes) Perkins and their children Tyler and Alexis; Ron (Diane) Perkins and their children Riley, Mitch and Stephanie; his sisters Aurore Kerekes, Lillian (Raymond) Gaboury, Irene Phaneuf, Julie (Bernard) Godin, Angeline (David) Kopera; his sisters in Law: Donna Sarrazin and Paula Cure. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Sarrazin), his second wife Helen Perkins (nee Kinar); his Parents Jean Baptiste and Leona Bussiere; his sister Doris Bussiere; his father and mother-in-law Mathias and Simonne Sarrazin; his Brothers in Law: George Sarrazin, Ed Phaneuf, Andy Kerekes and Leo Cure Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday April 3, 2008 at 2pm from Sacred Heart RC Church in Spiritwood with Rev Fr Paul De Guzman. The cross bearer was Allyssa Bussiere and the eulogy was read by David Kopera and scripture readings were read by Laura Risling, Michelle Chartier and Joyce Willick. Phil Marion was the soloist and led the hymns accompanied by Carmen Tipton on the organ. The pall bearers were Clinton Marks, Curtis Chartier, Tyler Hoare, Amber Bussiere, Justin Bussiere and Mason Wong. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. Robert was laid to rest in the Spiritwood Cemetery.
