- Melissa (Bussiere) Delforte, age 63, passed away at home, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Joseph Delforte; two sons, Joseph and John Delforte; three siblings, Cynthia (Richard) Pierce, Mary Jane Quinlan and Thomas P. (Diane) Bussiere; sisters-in-law, Denise and
Suki Bussiere; mother-in-law, Ann Delforte; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three siblings, John, George and Michael Bussiere; and father-in-law, Joseph G. Delforte. Melissa was born in Attleboro, MA and was the daughter of George and Betty (Gill) Bussierre. She was a graduate of Attleboro High School, class of 1977 and earned a bachelors degree from Bryant University in Rhode Island. Melissa and Joe were married in Attleboro on April 22, 1989 and moved to Canandaigua in 1991. She worked as a Financial Analyst at Canandaigua Financial Group. Melissa was a member of St. Mary's Church and Canandaigua Country Club. She enjoyed bike riding, golfing, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Melissa rode her bike 540 miles in the Empire State Ride, a fundraiser for Roswell Park Cancer Center. Friends may call Tuesday, October 18, from 4-7pm at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her memorial mass will be celebrated Wednesday, October 19, at 11am, at St. Mary's Church, 95 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Canandaigua.
