- Rita M. Cassidy Bussiere, 74, died Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Elizabeth, NJ she had lived in South Brunswick and Edison before moving to Somerset 5 years ago. She had owned and operated R. Bussiere Enterprises, which included a family restaurant and catering business in Piscataway, with her husband and children. Mrs. Bussiere was a communicant of Saint Augustine of Canterbury R.C. Church in Kendall Park. She was a member of the Red Hatters and the Singles Club of Canal Walk.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Bussiere in 2002; two sons, Michael D. Bussiere and Joseph M. Bussiere and a brother, Michael Cassidy. She will be sadly missed by two sons, Robert J. Bussiere of Somerset and David G. Bussiere and his wife Lynn of Bentonville, Arkansas; a daughter, Sherrie Lynn Brownlie and her husband Rob of Edison; two daughters-in-law, Danielle Bussiere of Monroe and Patricia Bussiere of Dayton; two sisters, Rosemary Cassidy-Petersen of Clark and Linda Hudson-Colletti of Manalapan; 5 grandsons; 14 granddaughters; one great granddaughter; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at Saint Augustine of Canterbury R.C. Church in Kendall Park. Burial will follow in Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Community Visiting Nurse Association, 110 West End Avenue, Somerville, NJ 08876.
