- Francois R. ,Dick, Bussiere, 82, of Auburn, passed away on Dec. 4, 2021 in Lewiston, with loving family by his side. He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 18, 1939 to Wilfred and Mabel Bussiere. He attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1957. He served as a Communications Specialist in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1963. After his military service, he worked for many years as the Finance and Admissions Director of Mr. Bernards School. He was active for many years in the Auburn School Department and was very supportive of Auburn schools, serving as an elected member of the Auburn School Committee and also as an appointed member of the Auburn School Department finance committee. He was also a volunteer at CMMC for many years with his sister Annette. He loved playing cards with siblings and friends and attending family gatherings, and especially sporting events involving his grandsons. Francois is survived by his son Anthony W. Bussiere and girlfriend Ann-Marie Castonguay of Lewiston, son Michael Bussiere and wife Christine of Argyle, Texas; grandson Cameron Bussiere and wife Christie of Lewiston, grandson Joshua Bussiere of Lewiston; former spouse and long-time friend Valerie and her husband Francis of Auburn, sister Constance (Bussiere) Sullivan and husband William of Rochester, N.Y., Annette (Bussiere) Dubuc of Lewiston, brother Dr. Raymond Tiffany of Garner, N.C.; and many nieces and nephews who knew him affectionately as Uncle Dick. He was predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Mabel Bussiere; as well as siblings Leo, Gerard, Fern, Blanche, Yvonne, Rita and Joseph. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday Dec. 11, from 2-4 p.m. only at Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. Face masks are recommended. Burial will be held privately with military honors at the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta.
