SOUTH DENNIS - George Etienne Bussiere Jr., 80, died Sunday at his home.
He was the husband of the late Betty-Jane (Gill) Bussiere.
Born in West Warwick, R.I., Mr. Bussiere was educated in Attleboro and graduated from Attleboro High School in 1942. He was a custodian at the Attleboro District Court for more than 30 years, retiring to South Dennis from Attleboro in 1988.
During World War II he served in the Navy Reserve. He enjoyed stamp collecting and spending time with his family.
Survivors include three sons, George G. Bussiere of Attleboro, Michael T. Bussiere of Hinesville, Ga., and Thomas P. Bussiere of New London, Conn.; three daughters, Cynthia A. Pierce of Attleboro, Mary Jane Quinlan of Saugus and Melissa J. Delforte of Canandaigua, N.Y.; two sisters, Barbara Nugent of Altadena, Calif., and Lorraine St. Pierre of Attleboro; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late John S. Bussiere.
A funeral service is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., Attleboro, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sea Street, Hyannis.
