LOWER GRANITEVILLE ? Samuel Richard Bussiere, 64, of Dodge Avenue, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Born Dec. 15, 1942, in Pittsfield, N.H., he was the son of Wilfred and Florence (Jenness) Bishop. He graduated from Williamstown High School in 1960 and later received an associate's degree in business from the University of Vermont in Burlington.
On July 25, 1964, he married Patricia M. Hebert in Williamstown. Following their marriage, they lived in Berlin before moving to their present home in 1968.
For many years, he had worked as a machinist for the former Sprague Electric Company and later in the same capacity for S B Electronics, both in Barre. He retired in January 2006 due to ill health.
Spending time with his family at Wells Beach, Maine, and caring for his exotic pets were his special interests. He was a member of the Barre Elks Lodge 1535 and in earlier years he served in the Vermont Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Bussiere; his daughter, Tammy Drollette of Lower Graniteville; two sons, Todd Bussiere of Lower Graniteville and Troy Bussiere of Orange; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rod Bishop of Vermont.
His parents and three sisters, Jean Gauthier, Marjorie Deuso, and Yvonne Bishop, predeceased him.
A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre. Interment will follow in the St. Sylvester Cemetery in Websterville.
