- PORTSMOUTH - Edith M. Bussiere, 98, died Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at SunBridge of Portsmouth after a long period of failing health.
She was born in Benton on Sept. 22, 1908, the daughter of Amede and Delvina (Belair) Fillion. Most of her childhood and adult life were spent in Northfield.
She was the widow of the late Alphe A. Bussiere, who died in June 1970.
She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and, after moving to Portsmouth, the Church of the Immaculate Conception. She was very dedicated to the blessed mother and Saint Anne. She was a promoter for the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal. She was also a member of St. Anne Society of Assumption Parish in Tilton.
She leaves her son, Alfred Bussiere and his wife, Karen, of Greenland; a granddaughter, Jennifer McKay and her husband, Edward, of Greenland; great-grandsons Cody Alan Bussiere and Christopher R. McKay; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Lillian M. McKenna, Rose F. Bussiere, Emma F. Ritchie, Alfred Fillion Sr. and Lawrence Fillion.
SERVICES: A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 98 Summer St., Portsmouth. Friends invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Seacoast Hospice, 10 Hampton Road, Exeter, NH 03833. Arrangements are by the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth.
