[2] - Roderick W. "Rod" Bishop, 68, died Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. He was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Barre, the son of Wilfred and Florence (Genest) Bussiere. He attended Barre schools. Mr. Bishop served his country as a Marine during the Viet Nam War. After his time in the Marines, he enlisted in and retired from the Army. He worked at Bombardier in Barre for 18 years and then at Timkin Specialties in Lebanon, New Hampshire. He married Hester Lamson in 1996. Mr. Bishop enjoyed woodworking and watching bull riding.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, Jodi Pelletier, of Washington; stepdaughter, Andrea Brown, of White River Junction; stepson, Michael Lamson, of Huntington; two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Nick Bishop. The graveside service will be held at a later date in Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center.
