- Anne Marie (Lapointe) Bussiere, 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Willimansett Center West on Thursday, August 9, 2018. Anne was born to Rita (Sansoucy) (Lapointe) Putman and Aime G. Lapointe on April 17, 1944. She grew up tending animals on Sargeant Street Farm in Belchertown. Anne had a lifelong love of animals, spent years as a successful groomer, adopted animals and dedicated much of her time volunteering at local animal shelters. She shared a special bond with horses and was a breeder of Shetland Sheep dogs and cared for many wild animals. Annie enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends and was a parishioner of Trinity Episcopal Church in Ware. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, sparkling humor and mischievous laugh.
She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Roland G. Bussiere in 2011 and by a daughter, Tina Welch. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Barbara Ann (Welch) Newton and her husband Ronald J. Newton of Gilbertville, her son Robert Frank Welch and his wife Leslie of Arkansas, step-daughters Karen Roy and Linda Devine both of Chicopee; her grandchildren Seth Newton, Jessica (Newton) Skinner and husband Garrett G. Skinner, and Wade Welch. She is also survived by her two sisters, Lucille Paine of Agawam, Katherine Pelletier and her husband Garland of Lincolnton, NC; two brothers, William Lapointe and his fiancé Joane of VT and Robert Lapointe of Williamsburg, MA. Anne's partner, Bill Fielder of Ware, many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins will also cherish her memory.
