- Salvatore F. Caramagno, 67, of Westfield, former superintendent of the Westfield Tennis Club, died Monday, Dec. 27. at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield.
He was born in Bedford, Mass., and lived here 60 years.He was superintendent of the Westfield Tennis Club on Chestnut St. for 16 years, retiring in 1976. He previously was employed as a machinist for 19 years with Singer Manufacturing Co. in Elizabeth. He was a member of Mountainside Gospel Chapel.
Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Bussiere Caramagno; two sons, Roland of Washington and Daniel of Westfield; a daughter, Deborah Fildes of Westfield; a sister, Rose Strazzulla of Piscataway; three brothers, Joseph of Dunellen, Frank of Middlesex and Dominick of Florida; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held yesterday at the Mountainside Gospel Chapel, preceded by entombment in Graceland Mausoleum, Kenilworth. The Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mountainside Gospel Chapel or the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad.
