Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Elphege J. and Cordelia (Deslauriere) Bussiere, she had lived in Milford since 2000. Prior to retirement, she was a social worker for the Commonwealth of MA. Mrs. Hontz was the founder and past president of the Blackstone Valley Multi Human Service Center in Bellingham, MA, the founder of Toys for Tots in New Bedford, Southeastern, MA. Her life was her family.
Survivors include 5 sons: Ronnie C. Miller, Joseph G. Hontz, Bruce W. Hontz, Wayne A. Hontz and Robert E. Hontz; 2 daughters: Louise C. Gomes and Julia Fernon; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Jeannette Pittsley.
