AUBURN - Marie Ange Bussiere, 85, formerly of Barker Mills, Auburn died on Monday, Sept. 7, at Clover Health Care Facility after a short illness.
She was born in Topsham, Sept. 12, 1923, the daughter of Florian and Marion (Therrien) Lamarre.
She was a resident of the Lewiston-Auburn area her entire busy life.
She was married to Maurice R. Bussiere on Aug. 10, 1946, and he died on Sept. 16, 1981.
She worked for many years at the local shoe shops such as Knapp, Clark and Stride Rite. She was also an accomplished welder back in the day.
In her younger days, you could find her rollerskating at the Becon or Bear Pond Park and dancing in the halls around town. She was a member of the Montagnard Club for many years. She enjoyed many types of crafts. Her knitting, crocheting and plastic canvas was loved by all.
She will be remembered by her family especially for the towels she made for all special occasions. Her summers were spent at her camp in Harpswell. Many great times are remembered there. She spent her weekdays playing cards and having luncheons with her girl friends.
When visiting her at home, she always made sure you were fed. Her baked beans were always a gathering hit. She loved her family and we loved her. She will be missed greatly by many.
She is survived by four children, Maurice Bussiere and his wife, Sonja, of Auburn, Dolores Korte and her husband, James, of Michigan, Norman Bussiere and his wife, Clara, of Brazil, and Michael Bussiere of Brazil; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Roland and Rene Lamarre; and one sister, Jeanette Levesque.
