- Rosemary Bussiere McCarthy
Rosemary (nee Bussiere) McCarthy passed away on Dec. 27, 2003, at her home in New Port Richey, Fla. She is survived by her daughter, Mary McCarthy Manthei of Naperville, Ill.; son-in-law, James Manthei; and her grandchildren, Michael and Katherine; along with various nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James McCarthy; her father, Adelard Bussiere; her mother, Celia (nee Frechette) Bussiere; her sisters, Rita Miles, Eileen Petermann and Nona Hackinson of Appleton; and her brothers, Clarence and Leonard of Marquette Mich. Rosemary was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Marquette, and met her husband while he was a flight instructor at the Escanaba Airport. She and her family moved to Stevens Point in 1950.Rosemary worked for the Stevens Point Chamber of Commerce while her husband managed the Stevens Point Airport. In 1957, they moved to Elmhurst, Ill., where they lived for 26 years. Rosemary and Jim retired to New Port Richey, Fla., in 1982. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, New Port Richey, and the Fairway Spring's Women's Club. A memorial service will be held in New Port Richey.
